Imposition of heavy fines: Transporters’ wheel-jam across country today
LAHORE: All Pakistan Transport Owners Federation (APTOF) will go on wheel-jam strike across the country today (Thursday) after imposition of heavy fines by the government.
APTOF Chairman Azam Khan Niaz has announced complete wheel-jam strike; he disclosed this while talking to The News. The strike will continue until notification relating to increase in fine is withdrawn by the government. Transporters have made Public Goods Transport Alliance and decided to protest from Karachi to Peshawar and other parts of the country. According to him, Asmatullah Khan Niazi is chairman of the alliance. Heavy fine of Rs10,000 is unacceptable, he added. After failure of talks with the government, the alliance decided to go on strike.
